Videx 80col auto switcher / softswitch
Does anyone make an aftermarket softswitch for the Videx 80 col cards (or clones as they are identical)? Does anyone have gerbers to make your own? Having to switch from the 40 col display to 80 col is a pain. They cant be that complicated, just wondering if someone has already make the plans.

Hi I actually already read

Hi I actually already read that article.

You will notice there are not kicad or gerber files. So per the article you would have to design your own PCB in eagle or Kicad. Im not looking to do that as it is beyond my skills; I have never designed a pcb before.

I am looking for someone selling the board now or gerber files online so I can have the pcbs made.

I take it noone has attempted to create this  pcb in kicad . That stinks. guess protoboard is what I am looking at.

Doesn't look like it's a complex design

Why not convert it to KiCAD yourself? Otherwise I can have a go sometime.

I worked on this a while back

I worked on this a while back and created a working prototype but was unhappy with the board layout.

This is a new layout, similar to the original.  I have not built the revised board, but the schematic and netlist are exactly the same - only the board layout differs.

In any case, the information is here:

Like I said, its beyond my skills. I dont know the software nor have I ever designed a PCB before. It would be alot of work to lean to use kiCAD just to make this pcb.

Thank you Baldrick, What the heck I will give it a try and post back.
