Did you try this with a standard Disk II controller card ?

Just curious - please try to format or write a floppy disk using this CPU replacement in a standard Apple II and using a standard Disk II  controller card.

If it works, great ! If not, you have the same problem why Apple developed the IWM.

Haven't built it yet.

Haven't built it yet, though at least two people have built a similar circuit that did work. I'll post when I get that far.

Can't see any traces, but

Can't see any traces, but from the placement of what look like pull-up resistors, I assume you're at least isolating pin 1. So I don't see why this would not work.

Ya this was just a screen shot from the 3d viewer, the traces are indeed there and pin one and 5 are isolated. Considered isolating 35 and 36 but it isn't really needed, just an over abundance of caution.
