I have couple of questions regarding a Quadra 950 and A/UX. Given that Quadra 950 (and 900) has a problem with running Linux (combination of running Linux and using the keyboard and monitor as far as I understand it) I was thinking about installing A/UX on it. So my questions are:
1) I know that I can run XWindows in rooted on it but how about installing some nice window managers on top? For example something relatively light like WindowMaker? Are there going to be some obvious problems? Missing libraries or lack of recent compilers?
2) Does anyone know if A/UX has software RAID built in? If not, how was RAID implemented on the Q950 when it came out (through SCSI cards?)?
3) What kind (size) of HD were the Q950 "designed" to house at the time (I'm toying with setting it up like it would have been in 1993 by someone having a lot of money then or putting several ~10-20GB SCSI drives in it along with RAID and use it as a backup)?
OK, that's enough for now. I'll probably have some more questions later if I get any answers.
