Good evening all,
Just as the title says, I am looking for schematics, pin-outs, etc for the
Apple 5.25 Drive Controller Card (655-0101-E)(655-4101).
I thought I would find something on k4lmp's site this evening, but it is down right now.
Here's the deal...
I have several of these cards with the cables cut off.
These were received along with several other cards from an auction.
I want to replace the cables and the connectors and make them whole again.
I will order the parts I need from Jameco, but I need to get header and sub-D female connector part numbers.
Anyone have this info?
Thank you in advance,
Steven

That's unfortunate. You'll expend much more effort, time and expense putting connectors on these than they'll be worth.
David,
You are probably right, but I'd like to give her the ol' "College Try".

OK folks, I went to JameCo for the 20 conductor ribbon cable (multi-colored).
I have been trying to find the D-sub 19 position female connectors.
The actual part number was (is) Foxconn Dy41099
Does anyone know of a good source for something resembling these?
JameCo does not carry them.
Several other major electronic stores do not have them.
One place I found did have them for $83.00 each! WOW!
I am going to continue searching, but I can use some assistance.
Thanks in advance,
Steven
You certainly are fun to watch, Steven. I'll give you that.

Seller http://www.ebay.com/usr/valeri_ab often sells the male gender:

Thanks David!
I just bought 10 of them.
I am going to use the description given on eBay to search for more.
We're cookin' with gas now!
I found a supplier for the male and female connectors plus the plastic hoods.
All for a reasonable price.
David....Thanks Again!

I found this place, ABRA Electronics with a Goolgle Search of DB19S.
Also Cable Wholesale doesn't seem to carry the DB19S, but they have many other connectors like the DB15 used with RGB cables.. And RS-232 Serial Cables, like the 10D1-02306, perfect for connecting a newer PC to an Apple ][.. And Free Shipping for orders over $50.00.. I have bought One Order from them, and I was very happy with the products...
Thanks MarkO.
Funny thing about that ad at ABRA...
They are talking about the 19 Pin connector,
but thay are showing a picture of the 15 Pin connector.
lol

Hi,
How did you do with this project? I like you have come upon a set of 655-0101's without the cables. I have also noticed that sellers tend to sell the card with no cable to connect to the DuoDisk drive, and they sell the DuoDisk drive without the cable to connect to the card. So my thought has been to change the connector or the 655-0101 card to a DB25, as the connector or the DuoDisk is a DB25, so why use a proprietary cable from the card to the drive, when I can connect the 20 pair ribbon cable directly to a DB25, and then use a common male-to-male 25-pin cable to connect the card to the DuoDisk.
