Apple II+ motherboard chips

Hi,

I just make a list of all chips in a Apple II europlus rev RFI (820-0044-D) and checked if it is possible to buy new one from Jameco and come up with this list.

Those having a price of 0$, I didn't find at Jameco. It is no new manufacture for those chips today? Could I use something else instead?

If I'm going to buy new chips today are there better version/options for some chips than the original ?

For example, I read that if I should use a 65C02 it's best to change some of the chips. (74F257 and 74F174)

What about change 74LS174 to 74HC174?

You should be able to replace the 8T97 chips with 74LS367. However, I have not tried it.

jay dg,

Have you attempted to go onto Google and
plug in the Chip Numbers?

Most times, it will tell you
where you can find the chips.

Just a suggestion.

Hi,

What about change 74LS174 to 74HC174?

Never replace 74LS with 74HC series. Use 74HCT for correct level interfacing to other connected ICs.

This parts kit is for rev 0, and there are a few changes to later rev boards like would typically be found in a Europlus, but you can still get all the components for an original Apple II/IIplus motherboard, including connectors.

Thanks! I also find som posts saying best to use 74F series, 74F367.

Thanks! I have now read more about 74LS and the different between 74HC and 74HCT.
