Hi all,
Can anyone confirm that a US Apple IIE enhanced Logic board will work with a PAL European Power supply?
I know the Apple IIGS works without any problems but not sure about the Apple IIe.
Thanks,
Rob

So if I buy a US Apple IIe logicboard I would stick it in my Apple IIe PAL case and use PAL power supply without any problems?
Anything other incompatibilities I need to look out for? As I've seen some cheap boards on ebay.
Cheers,
Rob
only problem: not every board from ebay will be better, than the one you have....
not every seller is reliable.... so better take a view to the sellers references....

I have bought apple iie hardware from ebay and it has been a complete disaster. Two iie motherboards needed replacing of chips and reseating etc., One iie I got was completely trashed. Even with Speedy's help I could not fix that one.
I had no choice but to replace a platinum iie motherboard with a non platinum iie motherboard.
The keyboard from the platinum iie seems to be compatible with the non platinum iie motherboard.
The worst disaster for me was that I bought two zip chip 4000 and both did not work properly.
I cannot give a complete list of all the problems I had since doing that would make it seem like I have a big sign on top of my house that says, "Please only send me screwed up Apple ii hardware".
Hello Rob
as far as i remember, you are located here in Germany. If that´s true, - there will be again in beginning of May
in Munich the Vintage Computer Festival ( see site: www.vcfe.org/D/ ).
There is an area where old hardware is sold and you have the chance to talk with the seller in person -
besides you have the chance to catch me up there too, because i exhibit some now designed hardware there....

I am so sorry to hear of such a string of Bad Luck...
I have had fairly good results from eBay purchases, only a few 5.25" floppy drives were found to be In-Op when I expected them to work, and an early Apple ][e, that I suspected had issues, and did, but all the Peripherals I received with it have been in great working order...
So, the Bottom Line here is, Don't Give Up!!!!
