Hi, I have two Apple ProFile 5MB (A9M1005) drives.
At first both passed self-test (Ready LED solid after 30s).
Using Apple /// with ProFile I/O card, I tried System Utilities + Low Level Format.
After several attempts (with two different controller boards & ROMs), now neither drive reaches Ready anymore.
Any advice on how to revive them? Could EPROM reprogramming help, or is this a controller/hardware failure?
By low level format, do you mean with the Piggyback Z8 and special EPROM?
Yes, I have tried that and I don't have success, I got error messages and since I have done this the hdd automatically tests didn't pass anymore
