Apple ][ Slot 3 video card with HDMI output

I'm exhausted trying to integrate the piece parts needed to get VGA on my Apple ][e

Instead of my non-working solution outlined below has anyone done a HDMI video card for Slot 3 (IE an "80 column card")?

what I have now is .....

vga monitor

^

GBS 8220 (VGA)

^

BIT-C128 DAC (RGB)

^

IBM CGA (digital)

^

Color Link Card from Applied Engineering

^

Ramworks 3 Card from Applied Engineering

AUX Slot

Is this an Apple ][ or a //e?  I'm a little confused because you mention the RAMWorks III, which only fits in the AUX slot, the //e not having a Slot 0 like a ][ or ][+.  What you are trying to do is hook up the //e to a modern flat screen VGA display?  What would probably be more ideal than a Slot 3 video card would be an AUX slot 80 column card with direct VGA or HDMI output.  Or maybe you'd like something like the VidHD card?

Ramworks III VGA extender

Seeing as you have a Ramworks 3 already, maybe you should take a look at:

http://www.a2heaven.com/webshop/index.php?rt=product/product&path=72&product_id=152

At the time of writing this there are 2 in stock.

Cheers,

Mike

VidHD:  https://www.callapple.org/vidhd/    (going to try)

MCE2VGA: https://www.serdashop.com/MCE2VGA  (going to wait)

Ramworks VGA: http://www.a2heaven.com/webshop/index.php?rt=product/product&product_id=152  (already ordered)

The VidHD is pretty good.  Takes a moment to start up, and doesn't *exactly* blend the same way as composite video, but you can put it in IIgs mode which (imo) looks better anyway.

Make sure you are running the latest firmware.

My biggest gripe is that it *only* runs in 1080p, so I can't connect it to a multisync VGA CRT via an hdmi->vga adapter.

You should be able to go

You should be able to go directly from the Color Link RGB to a SCART-to-HDMI adapter.
