Been trying to load some of the tape stuff and keep getting an error.
I loaded integer basic on my II plus off of disk, then I use the load command with my iphone hooked up. I have tried 100%,50% and 75% volume. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Corey

I should mention I havent spent a lot of time on this. I figured I'd ask the experts first.
Ok one more thing to add, at about 85-90% volume I get a "mem full error". Do I have to set something before I type load? I have a 48k plus 16k language card system
Well, first things first. I'm pretty sure that the cassette tape I/O on the Apple ][ uses the line level volume in mono. Is there an adapter for running sound (from an RCA plug) to a standard audio amplifier line in jack? That's the one to use, not the earbuds/headphones jack.
That's funny the apple-1 ACI is supposed to be less reliable but I use the headphone output all the time to load software. I will try to find my iPod breakout cable and try it. I guess the apple ii one isn't all that better than the apple I ACI (assuming you make the Mike Willegal recommended capacitor change)
I'll try it tonight and let you know
Thanks,
Corey
I should have added that you'll need an RCA (female) to mini audio (male) adapter with that set-up.
No luck, the apple dock connector to audio cable was just as bad as full volume. It also has no volume control for line level.
Any other ideas???
Thanks,
Corey
Well, I hate to suggest this, but I thought that you might have hurt the circuitry by using something other than line level input on the Apple ][ end of things. I don't suppose you have a second unit to try with the line level input? Other than that, I'm out of ideas.
Oh, I'm also assuming that you are using the instructions in the old DOS 3.3 (or even 3.2) manual. I think there was something to the order of the sequence of starting to play the audio in relation to issuing the LOAD command.
I dont think I messed anything up by using the output of the iPod. I'm thinking it more of a Brutal Deluxe problem. I'm wondering if the sound file is not good quality. I'm going to try real troubleshooting later using my Panasonic tape recorder.
