LockDisk for Macintosh

We've recently purchased a working Macintosh SE but it has LockDisk enabled. Is there a way to reset it or reformat the hard drive?

Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

So from what little I know about lockdisk it basically looks for a file, and if the file exists it treats the disk as read only. If you can log into the Macintosh SE you should to just be able to unlock it.

If you can't you could try to mount the hard drive on another system, and move the cdev/init file (don't just erase it - this may not work) and then try to reboot it again normally. If all is good, wonderful. If not then replace the file and see what other avenues you can think of. Smile

Here's a link I found with some information:

Or you could try booting without extensions (hold shift key down while turning on or rebooting; wait until message "Extensions disabled" appears before releasing).
