I was able to copy DB Master from Stoneware (and upload it to Asimov) using Gerard Putter's half-track copy method, and it works now in Virtual ][.
I noticed that no one had previously uploaded it to Asimov.
I am still unable to get DB Master Utility Disks #1 & #2 to copy work property using either the half-track or nibble method. Any ideas?

I do not have an answer for the utility disks. But if you are able to make a NIB image, I'd be glad to have a look at it.

Have you tried it with locksmith 6.0 and sync option in byte-mode?
Locksmith has a copy-protection analyzer as well as copy II + vers. 9....
an experienced guy might even recognize the kind of used protection while observing the bytes displayed in nibble mode...
when the one doesn´t detect usually the other one finds the correct options....
some disks have spare data at track 23 above 22 (hex).... and some have modified amout of sectors due to modified Operation System like modified DOS 3.3 ....
the only protection methode that i´ve seen, that is not able to be copied, is the one where a hole is shot through the disk with laser and the copy protection makes attempt to write that sector and copy is only valid if read is NOT equal to the written data due to the hole....
these can only be unlocked by tracing the calls with the write/read/checkroutine with a debugger and replacing them with NOPs.... that is neccessary because that routine is called several times within the game, when next maps are loaded, so removing first or second call doesn´t satisfy - because third or forth call kills it again...
software from Ashton Tate for example used that kind of protection and it required two or three nights with coffee and junkfood to solve those issues...
finally no copy protection realy survives a serious attempt to crack it... thats the only thing i learned in that sessions...
I have no experience with Locksmith. From Googl'ng it I see that it is an Apple II utility similar to Copy 2+.
If using Locksmith 6.0 on my Apple //c allow me to "break" the copy protection and save it to another 5-1/4" floppy, which I could then use to create an disk file?

by the way if you picked up locksmith you should also pick up "nibbles away II" too, because in some cases its able to handle stuff that locksmith can´t ... and vice versa ....
the next step will be to transfer it with ADT to the IIc and generate the Disks....

finally : there is no need for excuse - you just entered the show at a later point and thats not a mistake - its just another day ... - it just shows that dinosaurs like us are some decades of experience ahead and that we are not entirely useless....
