Wanted: ProGrappler or Grappler+ card

I'm looking to purchase a ProGrappler OR a Grappler+ card where chip U10 is a 74LS374.   This article from Apple claims this revision is required for use on the IIGS, which is how I intend to use it:

The ProGrappler is specifically meant for the IIGS.  Regarding the Grappler, it seems there is a later vision with a reduced chip count, I'd purchase this one as well as I presume it works.   I just don't want a Grappler+ where chip U10 is 74LS373 as it might not work on my IIGS.  Thanks!!

I was looking on eBay, which

I was looking on eBay, which is where I got the couple of Grappler+ cards I have.  All the ones with pictures up there now appear that U10 is a 74LS373.  Most of them appear it is soldered in and not socketed.  I'd have to look at the ones I have (not that they are for sale) to see if they have a 74LS373 or 74LS374.  I suspect the 373 because I'm pretty sure they are the same era as the ones for sale currently.

Not sure if you can just swap out the 373 for a 374.  If you can, as I mentioned, you might have to de-solder the 373 and put in a socket.  374s are readily available, so that's not an issue.  Not sure if there is a different ROM version for later cards.  That's also fizable as I believe the EPROM is usually a pretty ordinary 2732 type which most programmers handle easily.

The cards I have I bought specifically to replace the original EPROM with one burned with the LIRONGP image...  I still have the original EPROMs though.

Thanks for the response.  I

Thanks for the response.  I do have a desoldering station, and considered swapping the U10 chip - but I wasn't sure if that was the ONLY change, or just a way to identify a IIGS compatible card.  If you happen to come across a 374 card I'd be interested!

Well of all the printer

Well of all the printer interfaces I have, only 1 is a Grappler + and it has the 74LS373 that you do not want.

It does look like the rom is a 2732 MASK rom, so if there is an updated code, replacing that wouldn't be bad. It is socketed but none of the other chips are.

If it were me I'd socket it and try a 74LS374. Nothing to lose really. See the last post in this thread as well. https://forums.bannister.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=118838
