Yeah, from what I've heard a lot of the ones people have bought off eBay in recent years haven't worked. One thing I worry about on that is if someone ever plugged them into a digital phone line it might blow them out. They're almost unrepairable because the Novation VLSI custom chips have all been unobtanium for probably 30+ years.
