I have a beige G3 MT OS X 10.2.8 333mhz 384M Ram 2x128G hard drives LG GWA-4161B CD/DVD writer. I modified a file on the Tiger install CD to keep Tiger from disallowing my machine. Now I need to write the image back to DVD, and disk copy tells me that I don't have a suitable device for writing the DVD image.
Do I need some special drivers? Will Toast 6.0 (I've got a copy coming in the mail) fix me up? Or do I have to shell out yet more money for a Mac superdrive?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

I just looked on eBay for superdrives and found a seller who is selling LG DVD rewriters as pc and mac compatible. He claims OS compatibility at 10.3.1 and above, and compatibility with Toast 6 for OS below 10.3.1.
Can anyone verify this?
Thanks!

I know that one of the versions of Tiger I've seen is actually larger than a standard DVD, and can only be written by a dual-layer capable burner.
If it does turn out to be a size issue, you might gain space by tossing things like the language packs and extra printer drivers.
Thanks, I'll try that as soon as I get my copy of Toast. The drive I'm using at the moment supposedly supports dual layer, so maybe I'll try that also.
Again, Thanks!

I used a utility called PatchBurn to allow 10.2.8 to recognize my dvd burner as a burner. Still cannot burn the DVD because the image is too big - I'll either try to make the image smaller or I'll go buy a couple of DL DVD's.
Thanks for your help!
