requires Mac OS 9.0.4 or later.
I think itunes 1.1 is the one for 8.6. there is also a patch that allows 1.1 to run on 8.0/8.1 (dont rember which one.)
dont expect the music store. that didnt come until v 3, but that is only for X. so all you have is a player, and internet radio. the visuializations (sp) are there in 2.0.4. dunno about the earlier versions.

There's a link to the 1.1 installer there. I don't know how people find these obscure pages on Apple's website, and why Apple keeps these pages so obscure. There should be an installer for 2.0.4 there somewhere too. 2.0.4 was the last compatible version with OS9. I've got the installer stored on a couple of my harddrives.
yeah, that was me. I just foregot how I stumbled across those on thier site. compleatly by accident. but now that I am purposly looking for them, OF COURSE I wont find them. that's the way the world works. -digital
you guys rock. i got my lombard operating enough to keep me happy while at work. im parting out the dell laptop so if people want parts to an inspiron 1000 let me know....
how many gb is the hard drive? because the 20gb one I added in my wallstreet is starting to go. makes loud scraping noise continuiously from time to time, causing it to not boot. and occasionally, it sounds like it makes a beep sound. it's not the built in speakers, but it sounds like it is coming out of a speaker IN the hard drive. being an IBM travelstar, who knows. anything can happen. I already had a 15gb deskstar mysteriously die, with no signs of life when plugged in. avoid them, and Toshibas.
