Pismo RAM problem

I recently bought a stick of 256mb PC100 RAM for my pismo. It doesn't work in the pismo, but it works in my wallstreet. I know the top slot of the pismo works fine, because I had a 128mb stick in it before. This stick of RAM on ebay is identical to the one I bought - http://cgi.ebay.com/APBL256MH-256-MB-iMac-PC100-PC-100-256MB-Memory-RARE_W0QQitemZ9715862398QQcategoryZ80036QQcmdZViewItem

Any ideas why it would work in one powerbook and not the other? The pismo needs the RAM alot more than the wallstreet.

thanks,

John

RAM

1'st make sure you are not mixing PC133 and PC100 RAM,
Of course be sure to clean the contacts on both the SODIMM
and the Pismo.
Looks like a good deal if you can get it to work !

Mixing the RAM could very well be the problem, I'll open it up right now and take a look.

Nothing is as simple as it should be is it ?
Does the 256 stick work alone in your Pismo?
my guess is no, but worth a shot.
RAM can be fussy, speed, density etc
Best bet of course for your Pismo is to buy 2) matching 512 sticks from a reputable dealer...
eBay is allways a gamble.
At least your Wallstreet should be happy...
