"...they may be giants." You might remember that line from "Don Quixote". Using any other OS on a PC is just that, tilting at the behemoth that is Microsoft. Whether it is Macintosh or one of the various *nix's, you're proving that there still is room for others in computing. I recently discovered Ubuntu, and I have to say that I was won over to it. I was having problems installing it on a G3, so I've decided that once I get another PC (I freed myself from all of them save for one lone HP notebook for astronomy usage) I'll do a full install. I do use Ubuntu Live, and Xubuntu as well.
No, you're not being traitorous. You're just really thinking different, that's all.
Peace,
Rob
Ubuntu 6.06 is a very nicely done distro, even if you run it on a Mac. I've got it installed as the only OS on my B&W and it's pretty decent. Under PPC you lose some functionality (flash, media codecs, ec) that you get with it on a PC, but all the main apps run great. If you've got a mac that won't handle the latest and greatest OS X release, it'll probably do great with the latest and greatest Ubuntu release. If I had a better video card in the B&W I would even consider giving XGL/Compiz a run on it...
