Apple forum software

Does anyone know what software Apple uses for the discussion forums? Is it their own concoction?

my guess - a custom Web Objects doohicky

Probably a custom something built using Web Objects. Keep in mind I know virtually nothing.

Have you examined page code, that ought to give the answer, eh?

Oops

Hmm, double post, not sure how that happened, though my internet has been flaky this morning. Sorry.

Apple Discussions

The name of the outside company was mentioned in the category Feedback about Discussions some while ago. It confirmed my suspicion that the software was not (entirely?) Apple's own, and also that the processes of specification and tweaking were consultative and continuing. Keep in mind that it is a forum owned by a company, moderated wholly by Apple personnel and functioning for Apple's purposes. The software reflects that, although a little sodality sneaks in through the wainscote now and again. However, the vast majority of posters are one-offs with an immediate problem.

I shall not burden you with my opinion about the underlying principle and its application, but I have voted on both of them with my feet.
