Replacing Hard drive-Restoring from external firewire drive

Hi. I'm replacing the failed 60GB internal drive on my 15" Aluminum 1.33 Ghz Powerbook running Tiger with a new 80 GB hard drive I got from iFixit.

My question is once I install the new internal hard drive, do I have to install Tiger on it before restoring from the Firewire drive? How will I do this?

Also, once the drive is installed, I will boot up from the Firewire drive first right? Then use SuperDuper/Disk Utility to restore to the new internal HD?

Thanks!

what i would do is: install

what i would do is:
install 10.4 on your new drive with the install disc... then use the program built in to copy all of your programs and settings onto your new disc. i don't remember what it is called off the top of my head right now (brain fart) but its easy and it walks you right through it in the install program.
