Hi,
I have a friends iMac G4 dome type iMac that is doing nothing when the power button is pressed.
I've had the dome apart and checked there is a voltage coming out of the first PSU, which looks like
a AC to DC converter, it measures about 360 volts going in to the next PSU.
I attempted to remove two screws which seemed to be securing this PSU but it did not budge?
Am I missing something.
Is there any other checks I might try to see where the fault lies?
Is it possible to buy these PSU's?
I'm in the UK.
Many thanks
Mike
Have you pressed the little button on the logic board? (cuda reset) Try removing the PRAM battery. 90% of the time, pram batteries and random issues cause no power on these machines. I can't count the number of machines that have come right back up after pressing the cuda switch.
Hi,
no I have not pressed the button, although I did remove the battery for a while and put it back in.
I just looked again for the button but could not see it? There are some test points near
the PRAM battery labelled J18?
(This is the dome/angle poise iMac G4)
thanks
Mike
