Being the price of PRAM batteries ($40+shipping)is now about twice the ebay price for a complete 3400 ($20-25, probably with a bad PRAM battery!), has anyone tried to build a new one from parts? Should I remove mine, tear it apart and try to find individual cells to match? I would hope someone has done it before and has a step by step as my electronic skills are more a part replacer than a part builder...
By the way, does anyone have a trackpad 'clicker' button for a 3400 they want to sell? Mine broke years ago.
I've got a bag of about 50 NOS 3400 PRAM batts, most are probably still good, just need to be charged up. Anyone want one or more I'm asking $2 each plus postage. eg: figure roughly US$10 for qty 4 mailed in a stout first class envelope to mainland USA addresses. Heh, I'd suggest buying more than one, since I can't test and guarantee 'em.
see my sig for my email addy
Just figured I'd toss the offer out there, since you asked.

ps: who the heck is asking $40 each for same? Can't be much market at that price!
dan, it's a pit you don't have any wallstreet pram batteries laying around. i need one.
i have asked about this with my wallstreet and it's probably the same case with the 3400. any normal battery out there just won't be the proper voltage for the powerbook, so it's usually not worth trying.
I'll have to put a four pack in the budget and email you (funds are kinda short right now).
So these batteries are rechargeable? I thought they we're just replaceable lithium.
I checked on PRAM batteries about two months ago and found several new ones in the $40 range. Now I see one on ebay for $10.
Here's an interesting deal:

Never used!?! Who would do that with a $3500 (new) machine?
seriously everywhere we've looked they are like $40. I was lucky enough to get one for $10 for my powerbook 1400c. But $40 for pram batts. is just about ridiculous isn't it?
