Hi, I bought the orange part (circled in yellow and showing both sides) in hoping to swap it with the green pin board on the pictured iMac optical drive (CW-7121-B)
Nothing lines up when trying to use the orange part on the optical drive.
So my question is a two parter. First does anyone know exactly what this part is for? And does anyone have or know the part I need to put on the optical drive so I can plug in the 50 pin IDE Cube cable?
Thanks,
MaxTek

and where is the edit link for new topics posted?
First posts in a topic can't be edited. Can't remember why.
iMac drive plugs are not positioned like regular slim laptop optical drives. I dunno about Cube drives. That'd be the first thing to check.
So your saying you think the orange part is a regular slim laptop optical drive plug?
That part is called an "interposer".
IIRC, regular laptop drives will work in a Cube, provided you retain the Cube's interposer board.
I finally found a pic of the correct connector board that I need. Does anyone have one for sale or trade?
