Good evening all,
I was up checking the latest postings from everyone the other evening, and just before I signed off I noticed that I had a personal mail (PM). I wondered who could be contacting me so I checked it out.
The e-mail started off by asking me questions about myself, my nick name, and then asked some questions that only I and a couple of other people know the answer to.
I read down to the end and found that the e-mail had come from one of my best friends in high school in 1971. Now; we have not seen or talked to each other since 1972 and I have been thinking about him and several other of the folks I went to school with for a while, so I was elated.
Now here is one of the best parts... I asked him how he found me. He said that he Googled my name and the Bio from Applefritter came up in the search. lol
We have been talking on the phone the last couple of days and we are getting together for dinner tomorrow evening. I get a chance to meet his wife of 29 years and catch up on all the latest and greatest.
Now; on the one hand I know that this has almost absolutely nothing to do with the forum, but on the other hand I know that Applefritter is a way to meet new friends who share the same interests as myself, but I never figured Applefritter could be the vehicle for finding long lost friends.
Well, that's good. Sometimes the internet does come through and actually serves a purpose.
37 years is quite a while.
If so, me too!

Trash80,
Nope. We graduated in 1971 from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, Maryland.
An Update to this story....
We had dinner together at the Rusty Scupper down on the inner harbor in Baltimore Sunday evening. Spent almost 3 hours talking. A very good time was had by all.
