So, I finally broke down and got an iPhone ...

So, through a craigslist ad, I managed to trade my old, unused Power Mac G4 with display and everything for an original iPhone 8gb in mint condition with all original accessories and packaging. I have to say that while in the past I've been kinda meh about it, I now think it's pretty amazing. Really, it's the app store and available applications that make it truly great. I was a Newton user for many years (still have a pair of MP130's) and have tried various Palm's over the years with sporadic results (only one that I truly used was a work issued treo 750).

My main reason for doing it was that I'm trying to get better organized - and carrying the palm has proven to be cumbersome (don't get me started on the heft of the newton) above and beyond my phone and other stuff. I desperately needed a phone that I can sync my address book and calendars with. The iPhone is that and more. I'm very happy with it. The newtons and palms will live with my powerbook 180, se/30, and slot load iMac. Old stuff that I've moved on from, but still love.

Anyone else have iPhone suggestions, thoughts from former newton users, or anything like that?

I'd get an iPhone if I didn't

I'd get an iPhone if I didn't hate AT&T with every fiber of my being.

My iPod touch and shiny new BlackBerry 8900 will have to do.

Well, I've been with AT&T sin

Well, I've been with AT&T since BellSouth mobility in 2001. I'm still bitter about the death of the Cingular Wireless branding though. I've had no complaints in the 8 years I've been a customer. No desire to switch either.
