Apple IIGS Keyboard question

I have an Apple Keyboard II with my IIGS and somewhere along the line the spacebar might have lost it's spring , if it ever had one. I suspect these have two springs, but all I can see is one small one and perhaps a space for another. Am I missing a spring?

Regards,

Adam

That is normal

as far as I know, with only one spring in the middle, for many keyboards.

In addition to the spring,

In addition to the spring, the spacebar usually has stabilizers (often plastic clips or bars) on either side to prevent wobbling and ensure even pressing. These stabilizers may not be springs but are crucial for the key's functionality. If you see a space for another spring, it’s possible that the keyboard design allows for a second spring, but typically, the spacebar only requires one. If the key feels loose or does not return properly, it may be due to a malfunctioning or missing stabilizer rather than a missing spring. https://www.applefritter.com/content/disk-interface-replica-pcb io games
