wire in power supply

I need to make an extension for my power supply. I have to make the input end longer and I have looked for the type of wire that i need but cant find any. Does anyone know what kind of wire is used for this. Its obviously has to be well insulated.

Input end, as in 120 / 240V?

Input end, as in 120 / 240V? In this case use standard mains flex.

If its the 12 / 3.3 / 5 etc V lines, then any wire of simular diameter will do.
