I'm assuming you mean a floppy disk. First reason: your floppy drive is screwed. Best way to test this is to try and boot from a boot floppy. What happens? If it's anything less than a boot then the drive needs attention. If it does boot, then your floppy disks need attention. Do you have a known good boot floppy?
You're right, it was the floppy drive. PS: any idea how I could put a half height in the se/30?
HD? Assuming you mean a 1.5" high drive, the SE/x can take a 1/2 ht drive already.
