Well, I felt like turning my Macintosh SE on yesterday to type up some stuff, and it shows the happy mac, and just loads up to the "Welcome to Macintosh" screen and then freezes. I tried using a boot disk and the same thing happened. It was just sitting there! I didn't drop it or bang it or anything. I have no idea why it's doing this. Does anyone know what I should do? I really want my SE back.

Hey
Could be any number of things. Have you tried starting with extensions off? How old is the hard drive in there? If it'sone of the original 20 or 40 MB drives, it could be the problem. Or it could be a RAM chip giving up the ghost. It's pretty hard to tell. When you start up again pay special attention to the hard drive activity.
