Sorry, did not see your message there. I'll upload some more info in a minute once I find one of my VX's...
Thats the best image I have at the moment im afraid. I can't find my partly dismantled VX..( i only have working assembled ones here).
I'll try to find it later.
Even so, that should show you where the chip is...its been removed btw, but it will be where the arrow points. I suggest you use a sharp knife to slowly cut it from the board...
Please note the image is not mine and all credit for this go to an electronics engineer...who I cant remember the name! He also fixes palms so you could drop yours off with him. I'll dig up the address later...
Edit: His name is "Chris" (can't recall the surname...but he is well known in the palm community. Email [email]ips@chartermi.net[/email]. He can supply you with a replacment chip for a couple of £ which will repair the backlight when soldered in.
