Problems with red G3 I-mac

I purchased an Imac on ebay, std 333 mhz I-mac and replaced the hard drive with a 60gig hard drive and upped the memory by 128+256.. then I clean installed OSX Panther after updating the firmware

It worked for a while then there was a problem so I reinstalled OSX over the top.

Now it hangs at the blue screen, I can't re-install OSX it always fails the installation and I can't figure out the problem... any Ideas?

I had the same problem a few

I had the same problem a few days ago. Turned out to be a bad stick of RAM that we'd stuck in. It ran fine, but wouldn't install with it in there. You could try removing the RAM that you put in there, and trying again, but that's just a random guess based on one event.

It's by no means the only reason for something to fail during install, but it is as simple as turning it over and popping a stick of RAM to check.
