USB Joysticks and QBASIC fun

. . . First off, does anyone know where I can get a Mac version of QBASIC?

Then, will a certain command (I think it's on(key) or some such thing) work with a USB joystick? I was thinking I would like to write a game. . .

Any help, guys?

I assume that he is talking about Quickbasic. There is a version of QuickBassic for Macintosh. I have only seen the manuals to it, never the software its self. From what I was told by the guy that had it is that it really sucked.

As evidence I offer this Microsoft Knowledge Base article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/28150/EN-US/ Look at the last section and you see Quick Basic for Mac listed.

if you're working with a USB

if you're working with a USB joystick, you have at least Mac OS 8.5, in that case it would be better to use REALBasic, its newer and not from microsoft Biggrin

Would USB Overdrive do what you want?

I have Overdrive, and the stupid thing still won't work. I tried installing the drivers on 98 via VPC, and it won't recognize it. It recognizes the USB floppies and network adaptor quite well, and shows the gamepad (a Logitech Dual Action) as existing, but never accepts the selection process.

That's why I want a parallel adaptor- I've wired NES ports to a parallel cable from a PC, and want to try those.
