I recently installed Micro$oft's 10.6 update for Office X and noticed something missing... The Save button! All i get now is Save As. Can anyone shed some light on this.
Next Step: Open office!

I'm going out on a whim here, but could it be that you have open a brand new document thatyou have not saved yet so Office knows that you can't just save it since it doesn't have a file name so it only gives you save as? Do you get the save choice if you open an existing document?
Also while you are out of all office apps, try taking your normal template file (normal) and tossing it out and then relaunching word. It will rebuild the normal template with all the default settings and that should rebuild your toolbar so that you have your file-save back.
ok, trashed the normal template and it works now.
thanks
