Help me! please! Dual 1.24 ghz Mirror G4 dead!

It has been 9 days now scince I've last used a mac. Im kind of going through withdrawl. I need help. Last weekend while listening to music on my G4 at a moderate level on my vintage 80's kenwood sterio, The sterio exploded with out warning nor with a reason to, as it exploded my mac turned off. Praying it just turned off because of the sterio tripping the surge protector I turned my mac on and to my dismay i heard the most sickning sound ever coming out of my mac's internal speaker, it was like a record player playing with no record but heavily digitized. Long story short I fixed the sterio, All it took was a very sharp pick axe. It turns out the sterio surged the sound out on my mac with 120 V AC, Directly from the wall. The ram was distroyed and logic board too, I get a OpenFirmware error when I try to start it, sound is dead ethernet too along with the on board modem. The only thing good is the processors, i hope, harddrives cdrom and video card, possibly powersupply. I tryed to get a replacement logic board from apple but apperently they dont sell them you must take your mac to a certifyed apple repair location. thing is i dont have the money to do that, Im fully capible of fixing it my self. My question is ware can i get a new logic board for my G4 tower. The apple servie plan ran out 1/2 a year ago.

Well, i would be willing to b

Well, i would be willing to bet you could get a new board off ebay. Problem is, it may cost you for all that stuff like the board, RAM, possibly the actual CPU chip as well. Check and see how much its gonna cost you and consider the Mac mini's price. If total repairs run much more than a high end mini (since your computer is dual and the mini is not) i would consider a new machine as you might find more problems as time goes on.

You may be able to buy a new

You may be able to buy a new one from the repair parts that apple still sells without having them do the work but it would still be very very expensive
