FYI - I'm listing my original Mac 128K on eBay. It has not been modified for additional memory, newer ROMS, etc.
Here's the link in case anyone's interested:

I just need to get a keyboard, mouse, and OS disk. I am dying to try this thing out
how much does one of these things go for on average?
They usually go for 100+ on eBay. Hard to say. I've got a Plus that I'm trying to clean up right now as well. Got the keyboard, got the mouse, got the disks. Just don't have the keyboard cable.
FYI - It's fairly easy to find disk images for the old Macs on the internet. It can be a bit tricky to create the floppy though. Generally, the older the machine you use to create the disks, the better.
Good luck.
So how much for one that needs a memory chip replaced?
I 'acquired' a 128k that has a bad RAM chip at position G6 on the mainboard... or so the Sad Mac says... I've been looking for a 128k mainboard to see what I could scavange, but no luck as of yet...
It did come with the original software and ImageWriter, though...
You should be able to swap out the bad RAM chip with a generic replacement part. A quick internet search brings up:
http://www.smcelectronics.com/CMEMORY.HTM
They seem to list 64Kx1 DRAMs down at the bottom of the web page. I'm not sure what speed the original parts are, but you should be good with the 100ns part. Of course, you don't have the cool Apple logo stamped on the chip.....
Just a thought
i've got one of them things, with keyboard, mouse and software. i even have an external hd that i bought with it. i dont remember how big the hd is though.
I don't understand the previous poster's sig:
» wether it seems it or not, we're all dreaming.
Is this some obscure Philip K Dick reference that is beyond my cultural reference? In UK English, a wether is a castrated ram (male sheep)...
Phil
Further OT... I once used a BBS run by a man with the name 'Gib' which in UK English is a castrated cat... (Chime in ax0n if you remember old Gib, I know you do
)
I also have an early s/n Mac 128 for sale. With the Apple tote bag
BTW I have several Apple Macintosh beige tote bags in excellent condition make me an offer one of them is black
