Hallo !
I'd like to know where I can find a schematic of the apple II, and if anybody would encourage its "replication" instead of a "Replica I".
Thanks in advance !

There's a lot of different versions of the Apple II/II+. Understanding the Apple II by Jim Sather is one of the best. A book called the Apple II Circuit Description was a great reference. The Apple II owners manual also had a small schematic.

Apple 2s are pletiful enough, just get one at a garage sale.
Mmm, where I live they are not _that_ plentiful... I was looking for one through ebay, but there is none
When I asked Woz for the ok to use the Apple 1 monitor he said Apple would definately not allow Apple II firmware distribution. Just a FYI and probably why I never made a replica II

That's really odd, I wonder why.
Ok, well, how about creating Apple II replicas *without* the firmware? Meaning, the potential users must copy the ROM image from the Apple II they already own. Just program a flash/eprom and start playing.
Another alternative is to write a new firmware from scratch. I'm more than willing to assist in the development of a 100% compatible open-source replacement.
Edit: Oh, look at me, I'm replying to 3 year old threads. Oh well.
It's been done already.
There is someone out there in the process of making Replica II's.
He has a web site. He even has gone so far as to list a BOM (Bill Of Materials) and pictures.
