CDMA Razr now available

I picked out up last Saturday to replace my aging V60 that I bought when V60's were considered cool. Motorola really made some improvements for the CDMA version. The screen is brighter, the battery lasts longer, the bluetooth works much better (but it won't sync with a laptop, boooo!), the camera resolution was quadrupled, and it has true voice recognition.

Here's some pictures:

Here's a sample of the camera:

So far I'm very pleased with it.

GSM users will smugly note that the CDMA RAZR is THICKER (THKR?) than the GSM RAZR. And so the great wars for mobile supremacy rage on...

Just picked up a Motorola V36

Just picked up a Motorola V360 as a Christmas present for my fiancee. I thought about getting her a RAZR, but the price between the two was the same, and the V360 is significantly narrower than the RAZR. Haven't played with the phone yet, but the features list is impressive, and the thing can even play AAC files through a built-in media player (not iTunes). Gonna load it up with some custom ringtones and wallpapers before I wrap it up; I'll snap some shots of the unit when I get home tonight.

you have the RAZR 2

hey. I came across this on a website that delivers news about the PSP. they got thier hands on a prototype of a new RAZR that was coming out. they comapired it to an older RAZR, and noticed similar improvments to the RAZR that you are describing. brighter backlight, better cam, bluetooth, etc. here is the link:

so what you have *may* be a RAZR 2.

I personally want that black one or the V3i (itunes version) when it arrives at my Cingular store. I just got my first cell back in Febuary, a mot. v180. it broke (busted screens), so I got a used v220 on ebay. the camera is shitte. VERY grainy images. Now, the cam is broke. I may fix it and give it to my mom as a gift, as she just lost her v180 that she got when I got mine. however, besides the cam, the antenna threads (in the cell's case, not on the antenna) are stripped, so the antenna nub doesnt stay put. same thing for the back plate (battery cover). I am kinda stuck with this thing. Im not eligeable for an upgrade until fall of next year.

Since you have Cingular, you

Since you have Cingular, you can buy any Cingular or unlocked GSM phone from eBay or anywhere else and just pop in your SIM card. You don't have to wait.

I heard that too so I compared it to the GSM version belonging to a coworker of mine and visually we could not tell the difference. Maybe I'll bring my calipers and measure it, but if the difference is that small, it's pretty much pointless.
