How to get a game to run automatically

How can I get a game to run automatically at startup instead of having a menu or typing BRUN?

Question about the DOS 3.3 Sample Programs disk BRICKOUT game

When I run the above game, my Joystick //e moves the 'bat' up and down only when I move the joystick left and right. When I move the joystick up and down, as would be intuitive, nothing happens.

Is this the same for you, or is there something wrong with my joystick?

Replacing DIsk ][ Drivebelt

Hi, can anyone suggest some alternative material I could use to replace an Apple Disk ][ Drivebelt? I've tried a rubber band to mixed success, but need something sturdier. I see one for sale online but at $20 I'm sure there's a better household option.

Announcing the Marina IP stack for Apple II

Because I wanted to learn more about ethernet and TCP/IP networking, and because I was dissatisfied with existing TCP/IP implementations for the Apple, I decided to write my own implementation. It is called Marina.

I started on February 1st of this year, taking a Uthernet/CS8900A driver that I'd written about 2 years ago, and in 2 months' time I have written decent implementations of IP, ARP, UDP, DHCP, with little bits of ICMP, and the start of a DNS resolver.

Apple II+ Keyboard Mod - Questions/thoughts?

Hi all, have a II+ with a shift key mod on steroids. The machine does not currently boot, have to swap the power supply and check a few things before I can actually
try it out.

mean time, I have never seen a mod quite like this (although I've never seen a lot of things!)

Merlin 8 LIST Formatting Issue

Hi everyone!

Hopefully someone much smarter than I can help me out here. Trying to build a game from source with Merlin 8 and I am getting odd formatting.

I've tried with both AppleWin and my own //c and get similar results.

Notepad++ doesn't show any odd formatting

Yet doing a LIST in Merlin shows these solid white "J" on every line

Thoughts? It obviously wont assemble due to that character.

Drive 2 making a strange low brief whirring

All is going well with my new //e setup, with one caveat. When I try to scan drives in ADTPro, Drive 1 sounds normal, but Drive 2 gives a quick, low, whiz or whirr sound.

I have not yet read or written to Drive 2 because:

A) I don't have any software that needs to, and;
Dirol I cannot remember or find on Google the command to save a file to Drive 2 from DOS or ProDOS (if that's even possible)

Apple IIGS repair help needed

Hi everyone,

I'm stuck with one of my Apple IIGS.
It started, when I received my Transwarp GS card. The card seems to be unstable and I've found out, that the connector to the CPU socket seems to have connection problems. So I replaced the CPU socket with a new one on the GS board. Then my problems started Smile
