Unclaimed Sound / Failed RAM Error 0C000001

Greetings...

I've got a IIgs that had been working fine; last night, while booting, it presented an "Unclaimed Sound Interrupt" error. I tried every troubleshooting option I could find online (removed peripherals, reseated chips, etc.) to no luck. After running the built in diagnostics, I ended up with a $0C000001 - Sound RAM data error issue.

It looks like the Sounds RAM chips are not socketed so there's nothing to reseat. I inspected the board front and back and don't see any obvious issues. Any suggestions on what to try next?

DIY PS2 to Apple II Mouse Card adapter

Hello all:

New member here.  I FINALLY own an Apple IIe.  When I was a kid back in the early 1980's I always wanted an Apple II but it wasn't in the family budget.  After almost 36 years I finally own one.  I became a vintage computer collector several years back as it fuels my nostalgia or the early days when I learned to code and hack.  The unit I bought on eBay does not have a mouse and the M0100 mice on eBay are way over priced.  So I am setting out to build my own adapter to use a PS2 mouse on an Apple IIe.

Apple III Wont Load SOS

So now I got the system back together and I'm facing another issue. I can boot the confidence disk and the diagnostic disk just fine but if i boot anything that has SOS on it, it crashes and freezes. At first I thought it might be the disk drive so I tried loading the ADTPro Boot disk through ADTPRO over serial and as soon as it begins loading SOS, it crashes and locks up. usually with the drive stuck spinning.

Apple IIc keyboard "membrane"

So the Apple IIc (at least, the one I have) has a thin gray membrane of sorts that overlays the keystems.  It's badly cracked and deteriorated.  My intuition is that it serves no immediately valuable purpose and can probably just be disposed of.  Though I'd ask just in case there's a reason to keep it or try to replace it.

Apple iic Disk emulator?

Hello!  I'm new here and I was lucky enough to get a hold of my very first computer recently!  A beautiful Apple iic. I'm looking to buy a Floppy drive emulator that works with my machine. I can't find anything online, like the "Floppy Emu", which seems perfect for the Apple iic.

Apple IIe System Test Fails

I get "RAM 00100000" on my screen when I hold both Apple keys down during boot.  I can remove all cards and get the same thing.  I have replaced the 3rd of 8 RAM chips, after desoldering suspect RAM and soldered in a socket before putting new RAM in.  The 4th and 5th chips are also socketed and I tried swapping those as well.  I can enter and run a BASIC program, but booting from floppy doesn't work.  Help!

Replacement Disk II cable?

I recently rescued an Apple IIe, Monitor II and Disk II from the e-waste pile. Unfortunately, whoever left them had cut all of the cables off the back (including the power cable on the monitor). There was a ribbon cable between the IIe and Disk II. Are there any easily-available replacements for this, or will I need to look into building one?

How do I backup Apple IIe CF to PC using CiderPress?

I recently acquired and installed a ReActiveMicro Drive/Turbo compact flash (CF) card for my Apple IIe. The card came complete with a 512MB CF memory card loaded with software. I'd like to make a backup of the card's contents using my Windows 10 PC and CiderPress (Ver 4.0.3). Using CiderPress, I am able to see and read the CF's contents as a non-windows volume. But I'm unsure as to how to copy the contents of the CF to my PC. I do not want to accidently overwrite or delete anything on the vendor provided CF.
