I created my own Apple II Plus clone

(First of all, I can't believe I've been a member of this forum for almost 21 years!)

 

Haven't posted in a long time but since this forum was such an early influence for me I wanted to share my project. I have a real Apple II Europlus, but it's a bit bulky and not 100% reliable. I dreamed of something neater and simpler that I had a better unstanding of.

Apple IIe International corrupt composite out

Hi All,

 

About a year back I managed to get my hands on an APple IIe International computer. It came with an Apple II HDMI card so I have been using that for video the entire time.

Recently I went and bought an ESP32 to play with but after connecting it up, the display just showed flashing @ symbols. When I connect composite directly without the ESP32, it does the same so it looks to be something with my composite display. A diagnostics did not report any issues with the machine.

Questions about Applied Engineering Ram Keeper eprom revision 1.7 on ROM 03

Hi everyone.

 

My RAM Keeper has arrived. I tested it on a ROM 01 machine and there don’t seem to be any major issues, except that I wasn’t able to get the RAM2GSII GW4201D from Garrett Workshop to work, while the official Apple 1MB expansion card worked fine.

My main goal, however, is to get it working on a ROM 03 system. For that purpose, I performed the modification on the 74F27N NOR gate as required.

Saturn 128K problem

Have a strange problem with a Saturn 128K card in an Apple ][+

I think it is an original Saturn 128K RAM card and it is fully populated with RAM chips.

crustyBASIC - BASIC cross-compiler

I've been working on a BASIC cross-compiler and it supports the Apple 2 family.  It also supports compiling Applesoft and Integer BASIC programs to machine code.

An Apple IIe (PAL VERSION) repair process description.

I'm moving my computer collection to a local museum but I couldn't resist to buy another Apple IIe to replace the one I donated.

 

I bought an Apple IIe (PAL version) from eBay, sold as not working wich was indeed correct, and without the lid. 

The correct lid seems to be difficult to find. It's the first version ... and I have bought the last version which does not fit.

 

Anyway here is the repair process description.

An Apple II Plus clone board

I have found one of my former Apple ][ plus clone boards and I have made clear photos of that board.

That board was assembled by myself.

I have also extracted the  information about that board from Apple Seeds.

My board is a more recent board as it does not have any cutting under ROM 7 (Chargen)

However there were also missing tracks replaced by wire wrapping wires.

Below, there is  a pdf file about that board with the data extracted from the Apple Seeds document and with the photos..

Questions about the Ram Keeper

Hi everyone. Today I bought a boxed RamKeeper, complete with manuals and the external power supply. I have no idea yet when it will arrive, since it will be shipped from the US. In the meantime, I have a few questions about it. First question: from what I understand, the RamKeeper does not include any RAM. Unlike the RamFactor, it must be paired with another RAM expansion board. Can anyone tell me whether it can work with my Garrett Workshop GS‑RAM II GW 4201d 8MB card?
