System 6.01 RAM requirements?

Just wondering--is there a certain minimum RAM requirement to run System 6.01? I've recreated the floppies from images, but when I boot from disk 1, I get a screen that prompts me to make some sort of backup disk... If I put in a blank disk and attempt to make the backup disk, it gives me an error message; if I click "Cancel" the message disappears but then the computer hangs with the "clock" mouse cursor.

The Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide Now Available Online

I was a bit disappointed to find that The Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide was not available anywhere online. I contacted the former Editor, Paul Pinella, and found that the publisher, Redgate Publishing, had been acquired by America Online several years ago, so I contacted AOL and was able to get permission from them to have www.Apple2Online.com serve as the online host for The Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide.

My IIgs list two 5.25 drives connected when I only have one

Can a Disk II drive be connected directly to the IIc motherboard? (Update: Yes it can!)

I seem to be dealing with a double-dose of trouble here. Not only is my recently-acquired Apple II Plus ailing, but I just discovered that the internal disk drive in my Apple IIc is no longer reading or writing disks. I already plan on cleaning the heads (Need to find some anhydrous alcohol) and calibrating the RPMs, and failing those I'll just try to find a new drive off eBay or someplace else, so I don't quite yet need help with that specific problem.
