RE Mr Steven Landon

Well, i got here just by typing his name on Google today 01/20/2007. The reason was simple.
after posting my iMac to sell on craigslist.org, he sent me an email saying that we would be willing to trade one of his eMac and offer "some sort of cash"...I wrote back saying that I was not interested, and he wrote back saying that I could not sell my computer beacause i was offering different applications alredy installed in it. And that was a felony ...Furthermore he will report it.bla..bla..bla
The tone of his Email, made me fell ungry, and at the same time I thought that maybe he was right about the "illegality" of selling my iMac with softwares already installed. But I decided to check on Google to try to find who is this Steven Lando, owner of a computer shop called MacMan Computers in Owosso, MI Ph:deleted. So, after some clicks I went across this blog and it seems to me that this is the same Guy.
Now, I understand some people are still looking for him, I have not been affected so far.. but I thing this type on person should be in Jail ASAP

Tell me what you think guys
Oscar

he's a felon, plain and simpl

he's a felon, plain and simple. he's scammed dozens of people across the internet, a few here, actually. search for his name, and i'm sure you will find a few topics. Including one from his "girlfriend" telling us he feels bad and wants to return the stuff he stole.

From what I gather, he offers to buy something from you, you send the item out, and you never see it or your cash again.

actually, another quick google search brings up a database entry of someone by the name of Steven Thomas Landon from Michigan (my home state, so this matter is personal, and I am on a crusade trying to track him down). It is in the state police records for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 4th degree. It's gotta be him, because the profile says he's from Isabella County, as is the scammer. so yeah, it's him.

take a look:

www.state.mi.us/mdoc/asp/ otis2profile.asp?mdocNumber=307030

hope that helps.

Yes, one and the same. This arrest was how most of use were able to put a real face and name to the chaos after it all came to a head. He has been the subject of much discussion around here over the last year or three. He is also reffered to as "SL" or "STL" around here (usually "SL"). He is not to be confused with the user "landon", who has no relationship or affiliation with the aforementioned Mr. Landon.

[EDIT]
Here is the link where many facts bout SL were discussed, try to ignore some of the passionate response and focus on the details.

The current situation here is

The current situation here is we're waiting on Steve and his girlfriend to make good on offers to return a few items taken some time ago.

There's been no progress in the past month that I know of (though I only personally know of one person waiting for something to arrive in the mail).

The next move is up to them, and from your emails with him it doesn't sound promising.

...and some of us already have access to personal information. I've exchanged emails with the police in MI, but it's up to individuals who feel they have been defrauded to go that route.

Read through the other thread Doug-Doug linked to, note Tom Owad's posts about conduct around this issue, and sit back and enjoy the soap opera.

This is going to sound weird,

This is going to sound weird, but does anybody else wonder if
the parent poster IS landon?
No offense if you're not, but this is the kind of stuff he pulled as brokecollegestudent, pretending to be coming from another board to post that he was ripped off by someone with landon's description

Then why does oscararmando have that number as his contact for STEVEN? That doesn't make sense. If you don't want your boyfriend getting calls on your line, don't let him give it out, pretty simple really.

I've stayed out of this, as I

I've stayed out of this, as I was never a part of any of the original dealings. I feel I must make one point based on the posts I've read here and on other forums over this issue. You do seem to feed into stirring up the heat in a debate. I'm not saying that others don't or that they didn't initiate, but it would be best to to just keep yourself calm and collected and let the rest of the people react to you being calm. Don't let yourself react to them. It's hard to keep getting more emotionally involved if the person you are working with is staying cool and calm. It seems that most of the other threads have degenerated because both sides stated taking things more personally and reacting more heated than they should have.

I type this calm and collected and only mean it as an observation from a third party, not as an incitement from anyone with anything at stake here.

"Landon Sanders

Guess what I got in my inbox today!

hello my name is landon. i picked up you card posted somewhere on a bulletin board; i could not help but notice that you do not have a site for your business. my personal web site is http://siteomite.bravehost.com . i would like to design a site for you. my motto is " if you don't like it you do not pay!".

thanks,
brotherlandon

The site is a popup laden ripoff of the real siteomite site.

The phone number he gives is an Illinois number.

His arguments for having popups on his website are hilarious!

i, for one do not mind pop-ups. they give a body free space; it's NO PRICE to pay. pop-ups are a part of the internet man. FREE is the operative word. plus when you use a free host your site is automatically submitted to te major search engines. so you GET FREE SITE RAKING WITH SOMEONE WHO ALREADY HAS A NAME ON THE INTERNET.

I thought it might be steven landon, but there's a chance it's not.

EDIT:

It's not. It's unfortunate that Landon is a cursed name though!

Stuff needs to be settled between you and me.. that amy person you talked to is feeding you bulls*it... shes angry because 3 of her friends were arrested for pot because i filed a noise ccomplaint.. also shes not the most honest thing in the world.. if people want there stuff back all they had to do was post what was lost and theyd get it back.. But no one took that step.. except reverend darkness who recieved what he asked for and you can IM him to verify this.. You do not need to be on a crusade to find me.. all people need to do is put up what was lost and ill return it to them.. plain and simple.. hell ill locate as much as I can and meet you in flint halfway btwn your place and mine.. i want this crap settled and done and over with..

dude! curb your enthusiasm just a touch. it sound like more of threat what you are saying than he. the best position to be in in any conflict is the high ground and what you are saying above is knocking you off of it.

When the Mighty warns you to hold back a little... you know you've gone too far. Don't let SL change you, digital!
