Mac OS X 10.4.10 is available immediately. You can get it through Software Update (under your blue Apple menu) or by visiting http://www.apple.com/support/downloads.
As is usually the case, there is a "standard" updater which requires 10.4.9, or a "combo" updater for versions 10.4.0 through 10.4.8. There are separate "standard" and "combo" installers for PPC Macs, Intel Macs, PPC Mac servers, and Intel Mac servers. Be sure to select the one that goes with your machine.
And as always, remember to back up your important data *before* updating, and to repair permissions *after* updating.
Good luck!
repairing disk permissions prior to updating is a stellar idea too. Also, remember to brush vigorously between meals.
no backup, no repairing of permissions, just good old plain install...
so far no major problems, safari crashes on several websites, but i use firefox most often so not a big thing to me...
cheers, chris
When was the last .10 update for OS X 10.x? Is this the first? Will this one go to .11?
If 10.4.x goes further than 10.4.11 it will mean that OS 10.5 is doing a Vista.

Well, it's one more stable, isn't it? One more secure. It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be running at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your Mac. Where can you go from there? Where? Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do? Eleven. Exactly. One more stable. One more secure.
That is completely great. That was a funny movie too. Of course, I guess we all missed the opportunity to do a Black Macbook play on it.
"It's a pastel black, really."
How much more black could it be? None more black.

but the black reminds me of another musical reference:
"'cause there's 40 different shades of black,
so many fortresses and ways to attack..."
snicker!
Thanks for that.
...now sitting patiently waiting for OS 10.4.11!!eleventy!!!111!!
better wait next time... frequently crashes in safari (every 2nd page i try to surf to), less frequent in firefox and nearly no crashes in shiira. but it seems to affect every browser in some way.
tried to delete caches and repair permissions already, no luck so far.
I've had a few dropped connections.... Not quite annoyed yet, but I'm noticing it. Often I'll have many connections going at once:
2 ssh sessions to an ubuntu home server
a netatalk connection to the same server
a ssh -X gnome-session to another ubuntu box
a ssh session to an OS X (file) Server
running ARD, monitoring a couple dozen macs
iChat (AIM) & Entourage
(I'll have extra connections through that from time to time... also a few RDC connections)
and whats great is if I reset my Airport, usually, none of those connections get dropped.
Well... I've been just randomly losing connections... when before there was no problem. It could be my airport extreme, finally dying after running for ~4 years straight... so I don't know... but it feels like it might be the updates that have unsettled something, because these drops have just started.
If anyone is losing connections randomly from time to time with the new update, plz post.
i tryed updating to 10.4.10 but it hosed my tiger install
