ADTPro

Have you successfully transferred the ADTPro client from your PC to the Apple II? Did you save it to a disk so you can boot the Apple II with it? If you've done this there should be no trouble transferring the disk images from your PC to the Apple.

If you've got everything hooked up right and the program transferred but are having trouble transferring other disk images you might want to look over the instructions on the ADTPro web page.

What Macintosh do you have? See this page for really old ones:

I read this instruction and but something I donot understand,

From there:
Type "IN#2" and return-key; to set the standard input to modem port. So remember to stick your cable into the modem/printer port on your //c
Then:
Type "6B" and return-key; to set the speed to 300 baud.
Now stick a blank disk into the //c - we will use this to make a bootable ADT disk, but it also acts as insurance. At this point start "MacADT", and select "Send ADT Program..." from "Install" menu. Click "Start Sending" button to send "adt.dmp" to the //c. It takes its time, but your heart will be skipping as your screen starts to fill up with characters. After sending, click "End" button.

it is ok,I load this code successful.it show

send receive dir quit option

next I have problem, after load it I got this program

send receive dir quit

when I pressed s or c I got a word formating test disk
IMAGE(http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1503/picture1le4.jpg)
Once the file has transfered, type "BRUN ADT" and return-key to start the ADT program on the //c.
At this point the ADT prog has written itself to the blank disk in the //c - it is not bootable, but it is usable should you have an accident at this point (like i did)
If you mess things up and lose the ADT prog from the //c, reboot with the disk you just wrote in, it won't work, but will drop you at DOS. Just type BRUN ADT, and your prog is back.

I donot know why,how to do?does anyone answer me?

What Apple II do you have, ex

What Apple II do you have, exactly? Is it the clone you talked about earlier, or is it an IIc?

Two new questions: 1. Watc

Two new questions:

1. Watch the Apple when the floppy disk boots. Does it say PRODOS anywhere? I want to know what the floppy was formatted with. I have a feeling it's ProDOS, and you're running the DOS version of ADT on it. But I can't be sure, because you never described where your floppy disk came from or what state it's in.

2. What is the version number of ADT that you're running? It scrolled off the screen when it crashed. Should be 1.21 or 1.33 or so.

so I have no plug any disk drive.is it the reason?thx

Yes, that's the reason. Well, one of the reasons. The real reason is that ADT 1.33 is trying to ask DOS if you have a disk in the drive, but you have no DOS loaded!

Now I need to know what you expect to be able to do when you have no disk drive connected!

The Apple DOS version of ADT

The Apple DOS version of ADT (and the MacADT server) won't work on 3.5" disks. Only ADTPro (with the ADTPro server running under Java) will transfer 3.5" disks.

But you have a different problem now. If you take a .dsk image that usually has a copy of DOS 3.3 on it and try to use it with a 3.5" disk drive - it will fail. DOS 3.3 is going to expect Disk ][ hardware, but instead there will be a SmartPort or similar device. So even if you write a 5.25" .dsk image to a 3.5" disk, it's probably not going to do what you want it to do. You really need to get a new 5.25" disk drive.

ok,thx for ur answer.I know the reason why,in other word.I use 5.25 and plug it to run adt 3.3 ,I can convert .dsk to 5.25 disk.I try it.but the probem is 5.25 disk is so few, if I want to buy it.it is so difficult,3.5 is so easily,so that is reason why I have convert to 3.5 disk.do u have another way to do it?

Try A2Gameserver

The only thing that comes to mind is Apple Game Server: http://a2gameserver.berlios.de/ .
It will run Apple II games without the need for a disk drive at all.
