Hey,
Had no idea where to put this question so I picked this section. Here's the problem: I write about film (among other things) on my website and I'd like to capture images from the DVDs that I play on my laptops (Pismo running 10.3.9 and Lombard running 9.2). Snapz Pro doesn't work and neither does DVD Capture (you would think that would but I can't get it to work and others have posted problems about it in other forums).
Thanks,
William

VLC Player will do DVD snapshots in OS X. It's free.
I've used at work to grab DVD screenshots off corporate promotional DVDs.
I never noticed the snapshot command before youz mentions it just now, I've always just paused the flic and used the old MOS selective screencap command (cmd-shift-4.) The snapshot thingy does work great too though I see, saves it as a .png to the desktop.

Hey,
That doesn't work while the DVD player is on. Neither does Grab. Still trying to get VLC to work . . .

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant doing the cmd-shift-4 thingy while using VLC. As you and everyone else has discovered, DVD Player doesn't allow screen caps.
