Hey,

Anybody hear of the hack making the iPhone available to other carriers besides ATT?

Since I'm not sure whether it's kosher

Since I'm not sure whether it's kosher to link here in the forum, I've sent you a PM containing a link to the iPhone hacker's blog. Enjoy.

I'm sure it's legal.

there was a law passed recently saying that carriers must unlock their phones if the customer requests it. Besides, we just want to talk about it, right?

if not, then sosumi.

Also, it's a hardware hack AF

Also, it's a hardware hack AFAIK. There are more than one method, but the one I've read about uses the JTAG port.

I suggest that everyone read

I suggest that everyone read this:

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/11/23/copyright-office-rules-that-consumers-can-legally-unlock-cellpho/

based on that, it looks like AT&T/Apple have no right to sick their legal hounds on the folks offering this hack. But, it looks like they did, and they have delayed the unlock indefinantly.
