2 GB in a Pismo?

There are a few auctions for PC-133 1GB 144 pin SODIMMS on eBay http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&dfsp=32&catref=C6&from=R40&satitle=pc133+1gb+sodimm

Would these work in a Pismo? I know Apple said that only 512MB would work originally but 1GB DOES work.

Is it possible these are 'double density' or something? I know we ran into that problem on an old PC once; 256MB ram sticks only being recognized as 128MB.

Just wondering...

No such animal

If you read those auctions, well, notice what all the descriptions read:

"NEW 1GB (2 X 512MB) SDRAM PC133 144-Pin Memory SODIMM RAM"

They're auctions for a matching pair of 512s, not a single 1GB. Admittedly the titles are deceptive enough that you might think otherwise, but... no.

Doh!

Doh! You think I would have noticed that! Up too late on the computer, I guess. (_8^(1) (That is supposed to be Homer)

It's amazing but SODIMMs for later Macs are $10-20 for 1GB!
