Wilderness (A Survival Adventure)

Wilderness (A Survival Adventure) or what to do after you crash your flight simulator.

Did not know this to until recently. But their were 5 additional Wilderness Country Disks.

That would be Bolivia, Burma, British Columbia, Chile, and New Guinea. Never seen these other disks for the program.

If any one has them I would like to talk to them.

I Don't know if any of the other country disks were ever released. I'm not sure that Wilderness was a big success and if it wasn't then Electric Transit, the same people behind Lunar Explorer, wouldn't have had any reason to release the others.

Re: Wilderness (A Survival Adventure)

I would be interested if anyone else has seen or heard of these expansion disks for Wilderness as well. There is a small pamphlet/order form that was in the Wilderness disk envelope with screenshoots of the five addition regions. You could buy each region seperately for $19.95 or get the Global Explorer package with all five regions for $34.95. I don't think these expansion disks were vaporware, but I never meet or know of anyone who had them. I've looked for them on Ebay for a few years and have never seen them listed. I guess they are collecting dust in some closet out there somewhere?

Update! Just discovered that expansion disks were released for the Apple II version of Wilderness! Go here:

http://yois.if-legends.org/vault.php

and scroll down the page to Electric Transit. You'll see Wilderness listed and just below it Global Explorer disk. Unfortunately this isn't for sale and at the top of the web page he says he won't make copies of any disks in his collection. This is proof though that they do indeed exist. Maybe we can eventually track down a copy some one is willing to sell or copy.

Nice reference find! Got a feeling if any of the expansion disks ever show up on Ebay the selling price will be salty...I know of one collector, that frequents ebay, who would not hesitate to shell out the big bucks for a rare find like this.

From what I read online, trying to find info on the country disks, the disk he has, and won't copy, is all of the other countries on one disk!

Re: Wilderness (A Survival Adventure)

Dean,
You are correct in your assumption, the Gobal Explorer package contained all five countries with a discounted price vs buying them seperately. It seems that expansion/senerio disks for Apple II programs are a bit harder to find. Besides the Wilderness expansion disks I am still trying to find the Senerio disks that were released for EA's Strike Fleet and Pegasus. Under Fire by Avalon Hill also had two expansion disks...so far I just have the extended cababilities disk, but still missing the campaign disk. Not a commercial release, but there were a number of adventures created by users with the Adventure Constuction Set released by Ea. They used to be on the BBS system they set up for EA's user made adventure contest. Run Five magazine by SSG optionally came with a disk with new senerios for their war games....never had any luck finding those either.

Guess this is what keeps me collecting.....seems there are always programs you don't have no matter how long you been collecting Smile
