I'm guessing this one must have had its board replaced. Very, very low serial number. Silver power supply like a regular II, but the board, I think I can make out the silkscreening on the left somewhat. So must be 820-0044-xx or something? Probably should be a Rev 03 or 04? Wonder what it'll hit.

I think both the motherboard and the keyboard aren't original. But the supply and the case look to be an early II+
the seller was peddling three II+. one of which had a pre-rev 7 board, the other has an early bottom plate, and a third had raised power light keyboard. I am inclined to think that the machines were disassembled to piece together one working machine and the remaining parts were slapped back together in no particular order.
so you don't need the integer rom card anymore?
I purchased the other two Apple II+s the seller was listing. Both power supplies had stickers circa 1987 from a computer repair shop. I surmise they refer to the systems as a whole, not merely the power supplies. I was going for the rev 4 motherboard, which works pretty well... the seller disclosed an image issue which is only barely noticeable on my LCD (after adjusting the mb knob); maybe I'll swap some chips to see if it goes away altogether. On the other system, I was going for the old style keyboard with the keycap power light. That's going to be more of a project. It might not even work, and the ctrl key needs replacement. Also at least one bad chip on the motherboard. Interestingly, two of the four missing keycaps were found on the _other_ computer and did not quite match its keyboard. I wonder if the remaining two keys are on the 3rd listing linked above! These computers have seen interesting times.
This is what a treasure hunt is for; a shame it costs so much more than it used to. I find I have more fun with the odd broken stuff than the boring pristine stuff. I suspect many of you know what I mean.

I think this hobby is getting too expensive for me.
These are Apple II+s ... there were what, a half million+ made? Insane!
WOW!!
That first ][+ has 16K RAM Blocks on the Board...
My In-Op ][+ with a Rev-01 Board might fetch at least as much as those....
I didn't realize early II+ had a motherboard earlier than Rev 04. So that ultra low serial II+ that was part of this group -- that should have been a Rev 1?
From what I have read, when your Apple ][ is under Warranty, and you take it to an Apple Dealer, they might Swap the whole Motherboard for a different one.. So I would guess that the Apple ][+ I have and the One in the first Auction, have been into Warranty Service and been swapped out...
I wonder if it's possible that they might have swapped in an older revision NOS board to replace a defunct newer one?
Read your small white spiral-bound Apple II Reference manual. It states the definition of an Apple II Plus as having at least a Revision 1 motherboard, Applesoft firmware, Autostart Monitor, and so on.
There were no revision 0 motherboard Apple II Plus machines, at least according to Apple.
Thanks!
I had read from different sources that suggested the earliest was Rev 04. You never know who to believe with these things, always seems like new info coming up!
Just a guess here: these sources probably had never seen an Apple II Plus with a board revision earlier than Rev 04. I know I haven't.
Also, Apple does occasionally make mistakes in its documentation. I found mistakes in Apple documentation while doing the research for writing my book. It could be that Rev 04 was the standard board when the Apple II Plus started production, so that's basically the earliest board you will gnerally see. However, Apple repair centers might have still have had old Rev 01 boards around, and so when they did a board swap, they might take the old Rev 01 board, put the Applesoft and Autostart firmware on it, then put it back in the Apple II Plus and get it back to the customer.
Here is a related scenario: Perhaps Apple never put Rev 01 boards in Apple II Plus machines, but they made this remark in the Apple II Reference manual because Rev 01 is the earliest possible board that could properly support an Apple II Plus, since it was the first revision to have power-on reset, which is needed for the Autostart ROM.
This is just a guess on my part.
We would need to get confirmation from someone who was with Apple back then, or is 100% certain that he has purchased an Apple II Plus that has always had a Rev 01 board.
If you guys discover anything here, I'd love it if you could make appropriate edits to the registry:

Here is an example of Rev-02 Apple ][:

This is the first one that I have seen....
