Apple11 Europlus

I recently opened a packing box put into storage in 1985 and it contained an Apple 11 Europlus.

Two issues have resulted: the black/green monitor does not work although there is power getting to the tube - easily rectified by attaching a current LCD TV to get the APPLE 11 logo displayed, the second however i could use some help with - 7 of the keys do not work (was 9 but 2 have since decided to cooperate) and while it is easy to get the caps off cannot see how to get into the rest of the key and perhaps this is not the solution anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello IHR,
welcome to the community,
there is upside right a search field....
and there are quite a bunch of threads here related to the keyboard...
in fact the Apple II has been distributed with several kinds of keyboards....
so i´d recommend to search for the threads and checkout which are related to the
kind of keyboard that is present in your Apple II.....
some of that keyboards are very tricky.....
some general info can be read at :
http://www.appleii-box.de/D03_1_AppleIIKeyswitchesKeyboardsPage.htm
though that pages are related in speific to a IIe keyboard some of the info
is related in general to different kinds of keyswitches and general function....

Re: Apple11 Europlus

Thanks speedyG for your assistance.
Went to your AppleBox link and found some valuable info advice and a link to Mike Willegal's site which was also very informative.
Confirmed it was a Datanetic model from 1982, but not so impressed with the idea of pressing the keys 200+ times each.
Decided first to try some quick drying, non-residual, electrical contact cleaner using a fine eyedropper at the top of the plunger and eureka each key began working with no more than ten hits.
I have two drives, one working well and the other will have to have a little work on it so can fully test the many floppy disks I also found in the box.
Oh and then find someone to repair the original monitor so have a good package.

Thanks again IHR
