Get the idea? For a split second when I started my first game, I thought it would be pretty hectic. IE, the players moved very damn fast at first then slowed down to a crawl. If you ask me, balloons caught in a twister should be moving faster than that.
Speaking of which, powerup idea... Teleport! Everyone swaps places... imagine the chaos! You could make a game type out of it! Everyone warping every few seconds...

I like the idea of the teleport powerup (or better, call it SWAP!). Adding in new powerups somewhat radically changes the game structure, but if I can think of a good way of adding it in, I'll think about it
As far as revolution being too slow is concerned, the controlled movement is part of the gameplay. ie you can't use thrust, or rely on being able to get into a situation of moving about quickly to help you (it totally negates the Shred Extreme and Spikes powerups, but it does make Jera's Laser Extreme more effective if used correctly

It'd still be controlled if it was much much faster, practically the same movement path as before... only... much quicker. About the same speed it starts as for a split second before slowing down again. Or if you really wanna push your luck, try variable speeds...

When I first had Maya use her extreme power I thought she would swap everyone on the field. After that it took me a while to find out what it did do (it was in the tutorial so there weren't even other players yet).
Maybe the speed in revolution could be dependent on the difficulty in the preferences ? Slow for kids mode, normal for normal and maelstrom extreme for NRRAAARGHH !
